How Social Media Changed The World

There are a lot of social media sites out there like

Social Media connects people. Once we overlook the ‘bells and whistles’ of every form of social media we are left with their ability to help us do what human beings always do best: connect with each other. It allows people to keep in touch in a more regularly, and sometimes, more intimately. Family and friends that live far away can keep in touch.

Social media has become an important source of news. While the credibility of some sources can clearly be fake, news channels tweet or give updates on what is happening all over the world. Their availability on social networks makes news more accessible. News quickly gets passed around on the social networks. I use to wake up and check Facebook and tell mom there is no school today, it is a snow day. She would say, "James how do you know that, they haven't even called yet." Then she would say, "Let me guess, Facebook".

Social media has also played a large part in learning. Children who start using the platforms develop early communication skills, and generally become more literate.

There are so many ways social media has changed the world. The ways I talked about above are just the beginning of all the ways social media has changed society.

Photo editing with Photoshop express online, PicMonkey, BeFunky, Sumopaint, and Psykopaint

Photoshop Express online photo editor is really cool. It gives you allot of tools to use that are on the other Photoshop program like doge tool and burn tool and more. The good thing about Photoshop Express is it is free and online. So you don't have to pay the huge price for the Photoshop desktop one. But I like the version you pay for and its on your desktop better because there is alot more stuff you can do and more tools but if you just want to do the basic stuff Photoshop Express is for you.

PicMonkey is easy to use to. You can do every thing from whiting your teeth to turning someone into a zombie or vampire. Also you can do a lot more if you buy a membership.

Here is my original picture.

BeFunky is like the others. You can do a lot more like changing the colors with it though. It even has an option to make a Facebook cover photo.

Sumopaint

Looks like Photoshop. I had a hard time getting it to load. When I would pick one of the filters it was so slow took for ever to load. Even when I would adjust the bar just a little I would have to wait forever just for it to change a little. It was hard to use also it seems like every thing you tried to do it wants you to pay for.

Here is the picture I made

I like Psykopaint. It looks like your actually painting on a piece of paper laying on a table.

You can collect coins to go towards more brushes and a lot more features. Also refer a friend for 10 coins.

You can't save stuff for free you have to use your coins.

Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox, and ImageShack

Flickr is cool but I had problems at first you can upload photos and videos 2 ways drag& drop or by choosing them. With Flickr you have 1 TB of space.
You can upload 200 pictures at a time.
Here is what happened the first time when I clicked upload.
 The 2nd time.
 3rd
Could not upload that many at once it kept saying this doesn't look like a valid photo on everyone. But it worked when I tried to do just one picture. I like how you can drag and drop to it makes it easier to do.

Here is the photo I uploaded to Flickr and then put on here:

This is a photo I took of the Gateway Arch in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Saint Louis arch take by James N. Hill

Also on IOS 7 on Iphone

Also with the new IOS 7 software update on Apple devices your photos can now be shared to Flickr directly through IOS 7, regardless if you are in the Photos application or from other 3rd party apps that make use of this new IOS 7 functionality. To connect your device with IOS 7 and Flickr, you go to Settings and enter your Yahoo ID and password.

Photobucket is about the same. Except Flickr gives you alot more memory for free then Photobucket.  Flickr gave you 1 TB and Photobucket gives you only 2GB free.
On Photobucket you can upload from computer, Facebook, and URL.

Here is the photo I uploaded to Photobucket and then put on here:

Myrtle Beach 2013 photo DSCN1295_zpsf7eaed98.jpg

This is a photo I took of Myrtle Beach we go there every summer for vacation.

Dropbox gives you 2 GB free. The good thing about Dropbox is that you can get 500 MB more space per referral.

You can upload stuff from all your devices also with Dropbox.

To upload stuff from your computer you have to download the Dropbox folder thing to your computer and just drag and drop stuff into it and it will sync it to your online account.

Dropbox gives you a tour of how to use it shaped like a book.

Your stuff is always safe online.

Has a plain look to it.

You can share your images to your email, Facebook, Twitter.

Here is the photo I uploaded to Dropbox and then put on here:
I took this picture at Myrtle Beach when my dad, my brother, and my cousin and his wife and me rented a boat at Crazy Sister Marina and went fishing.
ImageShack is like the others but I like it the least. You get 5 GB free.

Here is the photo I uploaded to ImageShack and then put on here:
This is a picture of flowers I took in the park.
